"We're both men," Nikolas said. "Why act like it's a big deal? Check if the housekeeper went to get the milk." Cedric's face said it all. "If you're trying to kill yourself with nonsense, keep it up." Nikolas frowned. "I didn't ask Daniela. I told the housekeeper-and I'll borrow the cash from you. Relax." He pulled out a promissory note and handed it over like spare change. Cedric raised an eyebrow. "Half a million? For one night?" "That's not for one night," Nikolas scoffed. "I'm staying the whole month." Cedric blinked. "You're really testing my wife's limits." Nikolas shrugged. "I'm your brother and I'm paying rent. Do you still need her permission for something so trivial?" Cedric let out a weary sigh. "Yes." Cedric had learned long ago that when Daniela lost her temper, she didn't shout-she simply walked away, leaving everyone behind. Once, she'd left him stranded in Olisvine without so much as a backward glance. Knowing better now, he chose his words carefully. “You have three days," he told Nikolas. "If you're still here after that, speak to my wife yourself." Nikolas let a slow smirk spread across his face. "Look at you... completely leashed. What a shame." Cedric refused to rise to the bait. But just before rounding the corner, he paused. "Why did you really cut ties with the McCoy family?" he asked, unconvinced by Nikolas's earlier story.

Nikolas hadn't expected Cedric to press him. Without answering, he ducked into the bathroom. “I'm showering. Get lost." New updates in glovesLeaning against the doorframe, Cedric pressed on. "What happened to that milk bath you were whining about?" "Forget it!" Nikolas barked from inside.

Even so, Cedric couldn't shake the feeling that Nikolas was hiding something.

The next morning, Daniela descended the stairs to find Nikolas lounging on the sofa, legs crossed, looking as composed as if he belonged in a portrait. He wore the cotton pajamas he'd borrowed from Cedric and flipped through a newspaper as though it were part of his routine.

She passed him without a glance and headed into the kitchen, where a meeting was scheduled later. She wanted to review a few partner profiles before breakfast.

Nikolas clicked his tongue. "Did you not even see me?" The content is on novelenglish.net!

Daniela didn't reply. She spread the documents across the table andm scanned thend until one ncaught her eye.

Nikolas rose and peered at the file in her hand. Alexander's nwas on 1. Alexander's top.
