Together they burst from the redwood forest and vanished into the streets below. Inside the forest, Callum lay
flat on his back, coughing blood in steady spurts. Larry knelt and forced his energy into him, desperate to
stabilize him. Smoke rose from the top of Larry's head from the effort, and at last he had to stop, panting heavily.
Callum coughed again, finally managing to stand. However, the fear in his eyes was undeniable, tears welling as
