Chapter 1295:

Nina's frown deepened. “But | still don’t get it...”

Jasper pressed his lips together. That was the tenth tshe’d said that. From how she'd handled earlier

problems, there was no way she actually didn’t understand.

“This one?” Jesse asked, pointing at the only question left blank.

Jasper gave a quiet nod.

Nina instantly shot Jesse a warning glare. Her look practically screamed, “Don’t ruin this precious study t|

have with Jasper!”

But Jesse wasn’t playing along today. “Look at the question above and think back to how I explained this one to

you earlier.”

“I can’t remember,” Nina mumbled, dragging it out as long as she could.

“Are you sure?” Jesse asked, eyes narrowing.

Nina hesitated. Did she even dare to be sure? Nope. She didn’t.

“Use the smethod you did for the last question and apply it here,” Jesse said, his face completely serious. “If

you can't solve it, you're skipping dinner tonight.”

“Jesse!” Nina huffed, glaring in protest.

Jesse's expression didn’t budge. She’d done this exact problem a dozen times. She was just pretending not to

get it now. Did she really think he wouldn't call her out?

“You've got five minutes,” he said firmly. “If it's not solved by then, I'm telling Mom you're not eating.”

“You're such a meanie,” Nina pouted, but she got to work obediently.

With the looming threat of no dinner, she finally dropped the act and carefully worked through the question using

Jasper’s method.

When she finally scribbled down the correct answer, Jasper exhaled quietly in relief.

Jesse said coolly, “If | didn’t push you, you wouldn't even realize how good you actually are.”

Nina stared at him angrily.

Jasper hadn't really believed it when Nina told him Jesse was scary in her eyes. But now, watching Jesse threaten

her with dinner? He believed it.

“Nina's a girl,” Jasper said thoughtfully. He'd always wanted a little sister. “As her brother, you could be a little

more gentle.”

“Exactly!” Nina jumped in immediately, all fired up. “You're always mean to me!”

Jesse's big round eyes sparkled. “Really?”

“Yes!”

“You sure?”

“Of course!” Nina blurted, then quickly
