Chapter 1631:

“Elissa.”

Savannah dabbed the sweat from her daughter's brow with a towel.

“I know it hurts. Just hold on. You're almost there.”

“Mom... Robin!”

Elissa’s cry broke into a ragged sob. Her voice cracked as she used what little strength she had left.

Then, through the haze of pain, ca high-pitched wail. The baby had arrived.

“It’s born!” someone called out amidst the flurry of movement. “A boy!”

“Let the mother see him!”

Following protocol, the nurse turned to Elissa, the newborn cradled in her arms. Elissa’s eyes locked onto the

child. Tears spilled freely down her cheeks. Her hand trembled as she reached out.

“Give him to me...”

Instinctively, she reached toward the baby.

“No!” Savannah stepped between Elissa and the nurse. “Take the child away. She doesn’t need to see him.”

“Mom?” Elissa blinked in disbelief, her pleading eyes meeting her mother’s.

“Please, just one glance. Letsee him.”

“NO!” Savannah shook her head, her jaw clenched. “Remember what we agreed on.”

They hadn’t ended the pregnancy, so Elissa could still have children when the twas right. But this child could

not stay with her.

A child whose father was unknown would cast a shadow over her life.

Savannah had already arranged everything.

At that moment, the person designated to adopt the baby was waiting just outside the delivery room.

“Take him away!” Savannah said firmly, leaving no room for argument.

“Alright.” The nurse let out a soft sigh, turning with the newborn in her arms.

“Mom... Mom...” Elissa’s voice cracked. She struggled to rise, her tear-stained eyes looking toward the door.

“Don’t cry.” Savannah leaned down and wrapped her daughter in an embrace. “This child... he’s not yours. He

wasn’t meant to be born.”

Elissa’s shoulders trembled as she wept, unable to speak through her sobs.

She understood. The child had cinto the world under shameful circumstances. But for nine months, he had

been a part of her. She had carried him through endless days of morning sickness, sleepless nights, aching back,

and swollen feet.

Now, with her baby being carried away, her body felt hollow and empty. How was she supposed to endure it?

“Don’t cry,” Savannah murmured again, stroking her daughter's hair. “You'll have children of your own one day.

With Robin. They'll be yours and his.”

“Mom...” Elissa just kept sobbing.
