Chapter 1659:
“I know.” Ernest gave a quiet nod of understanding, appreciating Eric's steadfast resolve.
After the call ended, Eric stepped out of his room.
He set off to find Cordell.
Two days later, in the soft light of the afternoon, Eric's phone rang again. It was Hadley, and when he answered,
the cheerful voices of Hadley and Joy spilled through.
“It’s connected, Joy!” Hadley said brightly. “Go ahead, talk to Daddy.”
“Hello? Hello? Daddy, can you hear me?” Joy's voice chirped with excitement.

“Mommy!” Joy called out, passing the phone to Hadley. “Daddy says he is coming hearly!”
“Oh, does he now?” Hadley’s gentle laugh danced through the line as she spoke to Eric. “So, you'll be joining us

Setting the phone down, Eric turned his attention to the stack of documents on his desk, diving back into his
work with renewed focus.
Moments later, his phone buzzed again—this time, it was Cordell.
“Mr. Scott.” Cordell’s voice cthrough, steady but urgent.
“Yes?” Eric’s brow furrowed slightly. “What's the news?”
“We've located Linda. She routed through Kroand has returned to Srixby.”
Just as Eric had suspected, Linda had returned to Srixby. A shadow crossed his eyes.
“Take her to Silver Villas for now,” he directed, recalling an earlier conversation with Ernest, who was tied up with
a project on the city’s outskirts, far from downtown.
“Understood, Mr. Scott.”
Eric hung up, but before he could delve back into the report before him, his phone rang once more.
It was Cordell again.
“Mr. Scott, we've hit a snag... Linda is refusing to cooperate.”
Eric’s brow creased in confusion. “Refusing? Why wouldn't she go along with being taken to Silver Villas?”
“She won't let anyone near her,” Cordell explained, his tone tinged with unease. “She is insisting that either Mr.
Flynn or you personally show up, or she is not budging.”
