---- Chapter 409 Ten minutes later, Maggie went to the restroom with a few others. Just as she opened the door
and saw someone inside, about to apologize and step back out, a hand clamped. over her mouth and nose. She
barely had tto register anything before her consciousness blurred. The people who had drugged her quickly
disguised her with the help of a waiting accomplice, then tried to hurry her out of the restroom. Skirting Cole's
group, they managed to get her outside and were about to bundle her into a car when someone blocked their
path. At that moment, Franklin's phone rang.
After hearing the message, he rose and said to the two executives beside him, "Something's cup, I'll have to
go. We'll meet again another time." ---- Chad followed as Franklin went downstairs. By the tthey reached
outside, the culprits had already been subdued. Seeing Maggie unconscious, Chad froze for a second before
quickly grasping the situation. But what stunned him more was-when had Franklin arranged all this? The men
waiting respectfully reported, "Mr.
Wilson, we've stopped them." "Mm." Franklin strode forward, took the unconscious Maggie from them, and
without another word, carried her to the car. Chad hesitated, then followed him inside. No sooner had Franklin
settled Maggie in his lap than her phone rang from her bag. It was the two engineers who had gone to the
restroom with her. Not finding her inside after several minutes, they had grown worried and tried to call her. ----
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFranklin ignored the call, adjusting Maggie's position in his arms before hanging up. Still anxious, the engineers
then called Johnny.
Alarmed, Johnny immediately dialed Maggie's number. This time, Franklin answered. "Maggie, you-" Johnny
began urgently. But Franklin cut him off. "She fainted. I'm taking her back to the hotel." Johnny's steps faltered.
"Franklin?" "Yes." And with that, he added, "I'm hanging up now." "You-" But Franklin ended the call. From the
passenger seat, Chad kept glancing back. Seeing Franklin holding Maggie the whole way, Chad considered
saying something, but then a panel quietly rose between the front and back seats, cutting off his ---- view. He
stared blankly for a moment, stunned.
The bar was neither very near nor very far from the hotel. After about half an hour, the car arrived. Franklin
carried the still-unconscious Maggie out. Chad. noticed carefully: her clothes weren't disheveled, but her lipstick
was smudged outside her lips-as if she had been kissed, or perhaps it had been rubbed during a struggle. Which
it was, he couldn't be sure. Franklin said nothing, just carried her upstairs. Chad could only follow behind.
