Chapter 453
"Taking advantage of customers?" Edna scoffed and turned to Yolanda. "I am Edna Moorley, the manager of this
antique shop.
"My employee toldthat your father broke the cover of our 18th-century rococo snuff box, but both of them
refused to admit it. You'd better advise them quickly to compensate us for it. If not, we'll call the police so they
can handle this situation.
"This is an 18th-century rococo snuff box, and it was a treasure that used to be owned by royalty. It's priced at
ten million dollars at the very least.
"Since we felt that he didn't deliberately break the antiques in the shop, we were kind enough to only ask for
eight million dollars in compensation, and that's already out of the goodness of our hearts. But your father here
was adamant in denying it and was overtly stubborn. He claimed that he didn't break it. This is too much!"
Rivera Estello, one of the employees, explained the situation to Yolanda.

"Which other antique shop would allow shameless people like you in through their doors? This is a major
character flaw!"
Edna spoke with firm conviction, stating that Harold had a broken precious antique in their shop and he had to
pay for compensation.
Harold retorted, "You're lying! | often visit antique shops and have always been very careful. | did walk past this
aisle but I didn't touch the snuff box at all.
"It fell down on its own. Don't blthis on me!"
Harold was very emotional while Diana chimed in at the side, "It's not like we can't afford it, but we didn't break
it, so why should we pay for it? My husband is the owner of a renowned business in Riverdale City. Why would he
lie and try to weasel his way out?"
"Hah! He's a business owner?" Aquila Rhine, another employee sneered. "Which business owner would be
shameless enough to avoid paying for compensation after breaking someone else's antiques?"
"Don't pin this on me! | told you, | didn't touch the snuff box at all, so it's impossible that | broke it!"
As Harold was arguing once more with Aquila, Yolanda went to the side of the counter to check on the broken
snuff box cover. When she lifted the snuff box up
to gauge its weight, she was first slightly taken aback. When she saw the markings at the bottom, she was
slightly curious.
Then, when she looked at the cover that was shattered, she cto a conclusion.
Yolanda placed the snuff box down and turned to Edna. This woman was very insistent, and she had a
determined gleam in her eyes. It was clear that Harold was framed.
However, the snuff box was authentic. It's just that...
"Are you still denying it? Only the both of you were in the aisle. If you didn't break it, she must have done it.
"You two walked past it and the cover fell. If you two didn't break it, are you saying that the antiques in our shop
can grow legs and jump down on their own?" Edna's voice was shrill as she rallied the employees to continue
pressuring Harold.
"Since you also run a business, you would know how important credibility is. If your business partners learned of
your despicable attempts to avoid compensating a shop after you've broken an antique, would they still be able
to continue partnering with you with assurance?"
"I can't just let you accusefor nothing!" Harold was so flustered his face was bright red.
"We didn't accuse you of anything. We have so many employees here in this shop, and everyone said that you
were the one who broke the snuff box cover."
"I'm requesting to look at the surveillance footage here! When you watch the surveillance videos you'll
understand that I'm innocent!" Harold suddenly remembered that antique shops like these would have
surveillance cameras installed.
"The surveillance system in our shop is broken. You won't be able to see anything." Edna spread her hands to
signify that there was nothing she could do.
"You have two choices. It's either you pay money as compensation, or we call the police to escalate this matter,
so everyone will learn that you're a despicable rat who refused to pay his debt!"
