Chapter 1225:

Ellis didn’t blink. “Someone’s here to see you,” he said, glancing in her direction.

Greta’s eyes narrowed. “Who?”

“Cdown and see for yourself.” Ellis poured a glass of water for Freya, totally unbothered. “He’s waiting in the

living room.”

“I'm not falling for that,” Greta said flatly. “You'll grabthe second | touch the ground.”

“I'll have him cto you, then.” Ellis calmly pulled out his phone and sent a message.

Greta blinked, startled. The first thing that popped into her mind was that Ellis had sent someone to deal with

her. She had considered running, of course—but after weighing her options, she figured that as long as Ellis

didn’t punish her in person, she still had a sliver of hope to escape. Even if he had summoned Trent.

She couldn't win a fight with Trent, but running? That was still on the table. With that in mind, she chose to wait

it out.

Moments later, a tall man with striking features and a somber, brooding presence strode into the courtyard. His

—Noel Blake.

Without a second’s hesitation, she scrambled up and over the fence. Her thoughts spun in a frenzy—when had

Ellis and Noel joined forces? Weren't they from completely different worlds?

“I've done my part. Keep an eye on her from now on,” Ellis said coolly, shooting a sidelong glance. His tone was

almost bored. “Don’t let her mess up someone else’s marriage again.”

“Got it.” Noel gave a simple nod and turned to leave the courtyard. Simultaneously, he pulled out his phone and

made a call, ordering a search for Greta.

Freya overheard bits of the exchange and instinctively tried to rise, ready to go after Greta. But Ellis caught her

and pulled her right back into his arms. “What do you think you're doing?”

“I have to help Greta.”

“Sit down.”

“Ellis Lambert.” Freya said his nwith clear intent.

Freya spoke his ndeliberately, full of meaning. He met her serious gaze and asked bluntly, “You planning to

scold me?”

Freya was quick to correct him. “No, I’m not.”

“Funny, considering someone just said they'd givethe cold shoulder over a computer.” Ellis’s voice was cool,

a subtle warning.

“You're the one who won't letuse a computer,” Freya said earnestly. “The doctor said it’s fine to use

electronics—as long as I'm not glued to them all day.”

“So you do understand the risks?”

Freya stayed silent.
