Chapter 1276:
Nick stepped closer to Jesse, standing shoulder to shoulder. Though both boys were easy on the eyes and
possessed an innocent charm, their styles couldn't have been more different—like fire and water.
When Nina saw the contrast through the screen, her eyes gleamed with delight.
With a burst of excitement, she greeted him, “Hi there! I'm Nina!”
“Hello,” Nick replied politely, introducing himself without missing a beat.
And just like that, Jesse was promoted—or rather demoted—to the role of honorary phone holder as Nina and
Nick chatted away with the ease of old friends reunited.
The two hit it off instantly, their laughter bubbling over as if they had shared a hundred conversations before.
Watching it all unfold, Greta felt a storm on the horizon. Noel, she figured, would probably start fearing that his
future children might be won over by strangers in a heartbeat.
After nearly ten minutes of animated chatter, Nina turned toward Alan, who was working through a stack of

please?”
“Don’t you want to stay with Jerome?” Alan asked, cutting straight to the chase like a blade through fog.
“Of course | do!” Nina answered, her eyes sincere. “I'll hang out with Nick at Aunt Greta’s for a bit, then come
back and spend twith Jerome.”
Alan rubbed the bridge of his nose, torn between marveling at Nina's boundless friendliness and sighing over her
ever-growing circle of playmates.
“Please, Uncle Alan?” Nina leaned in with playful sweetness. “Aunt Greta already gave the green light.”
“Ill take you tomorrow.” Alan gave in at last.
Nina threw her arms around him in triumph. “I knew you were the best!”
The next morning, she didn’t hesitate for even a heartbeat before setting Jeraside. Once she arrived, she
offered the two adults a quick, polite hello before dashing off into the yard with Nick.
The two of them ran wild—chasing laughter, turning the yard into their own little world of joy.

Noel stood nearby, watching Nina frolic with carefree abandon. A slight furrow appeared between his brows as he
turned to Greta. “Are Nina and Jesse really Freya and Ellis’s kids?”
“Of course,” Greta replied flatly. “They're twins. That's not up for debate.”
“Their personalities couldn't be more different,” Noel mused, his gaze darkening like the sky before rain.
