Chapter 1329:

If not for the limits on his tand energy, the higher-ups would have had him train everyone.

“Regretting it?” Ellis asked lazily, catching Michael mid-thought.

Michael hadn't realized he was spacing out and nodded. “A little, yeah.”

“Then go join their survival training,” Ellis offered, looking completely unfazed in his combat gear. “If you can last

even one night, I'll give you private lessons.”

“No way,” Michael fired back without missing a beat. He wasn’t about to sign up for that kind of suffering.

Ellis’s personal abilities were on another level. Facing him one-on-one would be over before it even started.

Ellis arched an eyebrow. “Afraid to lose?”

“Oh, con. Like I'd be scared of you.”

“Then bring it on.”

“Yeah, no thanks. Ask around—no one in this whole place wants to spar with you. You're like skind of tactical

devil.”

“Wouldn't this count as surrendering without even putting up a fight?” Ellis asked.

Michael was about to retort when a firm voice rang out behind him. “You and Ellis will spar one-on-one at the end

of this week.”

“When did you get here?” Michael asked, visibly flustered.

Both Ellis and their supervisor, Sergeant Marlon Freeman, turned to look at him—one with a serious face, the

other clearly enjoying the show.

Michael felt his stomach plummet. He was so screwed. Why had he said that out loud?

“You must be training hard lately,” Michael tried to cover for himself. “I didn’t even hear your footsteps.”

“You two will spar next week. The loser goes vegetarian for seven days,” Marlon said flatly, brushing off the

attempt to shift the topic.

Michael was left speechless. He gave a small cough. “Can we maybe negotiate a different punishment?”

Marlon didn’t even acknowledge the question.

Ellis lifted an eyebrow again. “Why don’t you join in too? Make it a three-way match.”

“Yes, great idea.” Michael jumped at the suggestion immediately.
