Chapter 1400
Chapter 1400:
Melvin’s emotional state was plain as day to Jack. There was no second-guessing it.
Jessica wasn’t so sure. “And if he still hesitates?”
“Then it can only mean one of two things,” Jack said with a shrug.
“What things?” Jessica asked.
“Either he’s impotent,” Jack said with a smirk, “or he’s got sterminal illness.”
Jessica gaped. That was ridiculous. If Melvin were dying, Freya would've told her.
“Stop overthinking. Just trust me,” Jack said, spinning his phone around his fingers, the smirk never leaving his
face. “I didn’t land all those girlfriends for nothing.”
“You know, not a single one of your girlfriends actually loves you,” Jessica said flatly, her words sharp and
unapologetically direct.
Jack’s face darkened, caught off guard by the bluntness. He scrambled for a defense. “You wantto call them

“If they truly cared about you, they wouldn't be okay watching you date a whole lineup,” Jessica said coldly,
laying it all out.
“That's just my magnetic pull,” Jack replied with a smirk, trying to reclaim his swagger.
“No, that’s your bank balance working its charm,” Jessica shot back, not giving him an inch.
Jack stared at her in frustration. Cornered, he lashed out. “Do you want my help or not?”
“You don’t have much tleft to waste,” Jessica replied, her voice gentler now, almost reflective. “You might as
well quit running after girls and learn how to manage your business for once.”
“And what makes you think | need life advice from you?” Jack scoffed, puffing his chest up again.
Jessica simply let out a quiet sigh. She wasn’t about to waste her energy arguing. Let him crash and burn if he
wanted to. It wasn’t her company at stake.
“By the way, there's something | should warn you about in advance,” Jack said suddenly, as if something had
just occurred to him.
Jessica leaned lazily against the desk. “What is it?”
“Don’t go near my parents unless absolutely necessary,” Jack said, visibly annoyed. “Every tthey see you, |
end up getting chewed out the moment | walk in the house.”
