Chapter 467
Anthea nodded slightly, then said, "Mom, | just ordered a ride. You wait here, and I'll go grab us a couple of
drinks from that café up ahead. What flavor would you like?"
"Red bean tea is fine," Carole replied.
"Got it." Anthea dashed off towards the café.
As soon as Anthea left, a young man, around seventeen or eighteen, approached from behind. "Excuse me,
ma'am, you dropped your wallet."
Carole looked up, momentarily taken aback upon seeing the young man's face.
This boy...
He looked so familiar.
Then, it hit her. This was the top student from Capital City, the one she'd seen on TV recently.
He resembled someone from her past so much.
His eyes and brows were just like his.
Suddenly reminded of that person, Carole felt a pang of nostalgia.

Could this young man really be his child?
Carole wasn't the only one surprised-Gerard was too.
Gerard hadn't imagined that the owner of this phone would turn out to be the lady
he had seen on TV.
Since his mother lived in Cloudcrest, the city was etched in his memory.
At one point, he had even wondered if this woman could be his mother.
But now, that seemed impossible.
This lady had a daughter the sage as him, also taking college entrance exams this year.
How could she have two children of almost the sage at the stime? Clearly, it didn't add up.
"Ma'am, is this your wallet?" Gerard asked again when Carole remained silent. Carole snapped back to reality
and nodded. "Yes, that's my wallet."
Gerard continued, "To make sure it's yours, could you tellwhat's inside?"
Carole replied, "Besides cards and cash, there's a photo ofand my daughter. You can open it and check."
Gerard opened the wallet and indeed found the photo inside.
"Here you go, ma'am," he said, handing it back.
"Thank you," Carole said, accepting it with both hands.
Gerard smiled slightly. "You're welcome."
When the boy smiled, there was a faint dimple on his cheek, reminiscent of someone from her memories.
Could it really be his child?
Carole offered, "Young man, there's a café up ahead. To show my gratitude, letbuy you a drink."
With his mind preoccupied with
finding his mother, Gerard wasn't in

od for a drink. "Thank you,
With that, Gerard turned and walked away.
Watching his retreating figure, Carole felt her eyes grow dry.
Shortly after Gerard left, Anthea returned with two drinks in hand. She immediately noticed something was off
with Carole. "Mom, are you okay?"
"Nothing's wrong," Carole quickly reassured her.
Anthea handed her a drink. "Mom, are you sure you're alright?"
Carole smiled, "Look at you worrying. What could possibly be wrong with your mom?"
Though she said this with a smile, Anthea still sensed something was amiss. "Mom, are you hiding something
from me?"
"The car's here!" Carole interjected, changing the subject just in time.
A Volkswagen pulled up in front of them, and Anthea didn't press further.
The next day arrived swiftly.
Nanson brought Violet to visit the Yeager family.
As the car pulled into an ordinary neighborhood, Violet frowned slightly. Wasn't Nanson supposed to be wealthy?
Why was he living in this rundown place?
She kept her doubts to herself, as long as she knew Nanson was rich.
Hoping to make a good impression on Carole today, Violet had dressed meticulously in a chic suit, paired with a
pair of modest heels. She even brought a gift for Carole.
She was prepared for anything.
Nanson led Violet to the front door and, before knocking, turned to her and said, "This is my home. Today, my
sister and my niece are here. Don't be nervous; they're very easygoing."
