Chapter 395: Rescue
The climbers landed safely beneath the cliff, the echo from the voices of the people above reaching them as
they shouted into the void.
With the earbuds fixed, they unclasped the rope from their waist, their gazes carefully scanning the area, their
ears perking up for any sound.
They glanced at each other, and with a nod, they moved forward taking different directions, the signal from the
drone committed to them through the Bluetooth device in the earbud.
From their safety kits, each pulled out a weapon in case the gully held wild animals. Their steps frantic and
hurried as they searched with urgency yet their eyes focused.
They urged forward covering a few metres, the voice in the earbud barking instructions to them as they
searched the gully for her or the red infrared signal of the drone.
The scent of gasoline and scorched rubber still hung in the air from the car's twisted frand smoke curling
from the engine.
"Over there!" one of them shouted, pointing to a patch of flattened grass where the drone’s red marker blinked
rapidly.
They ran forward, confirming she was the one. "We've found her," they reported through their earbuds.
"Prepare for lifting," the team leader instructed.
The group carefully knelt beside her, one of them checking her pulse and a few emergency vital signs to ensure
she could be lifted, but then his face twisted with dread, his hands trembled.
The gaze of his companion snapped to him, noting his pale face. "What happened? What is the problem?"
"Con...trac..tions, she is having contractions." His voice almost cin a murmur and disbelief.
But then, with the impact of the hit and the car’s fall, it should be expected, but witnessing the situation and its
urgency saddled them with fear.
"Urgent!"
"She is in labour."
"She has lost a lot of blood."
"She is unconscious."
With the reports, the people on top of the cliff felt their breath hitch, cold sweat broke out on their foreheads as
they panicked.
The situation was dire and life-threatening. If only she was conscious, but unconscious.

A flurry of instructions was given to the pilot of the chopper and to the team beneath. "Get her ready."
The air throbbed with the roar of the helicopter overhead, its blades chopping through the sky and sending
leaves spiraling in every direction.
Dust and broken twigs swirled around Jessica's still form. The rescue basket was lowered.
Immediately, they sprang into action, working quickly.
"Easy now, she’s unconscious," one of them shouted over the noise, kneeling beside her.
With steady hands, they carefully set the rescue basket onto the ground beside her. It looked like a narrow cage,
padded and fitted with thick straps.
Carefully, they lifted Jessica and laid her inside, her hair falling across her face pale with a deep gash, a few
streaks of blood ran across her forehead and cheek, a bulge of clotted blood covering the gash.
Her hand was placed limply against her stomach.
Carefully, they adjusted her position, grabbing a rumpled suit seemingly from the driver, it was folded and
placed beneath her head.
Another pulled the wide straps across her shoulders, chest, and hips, tightening them snugly. Two more straps
went over her legs and feet, locking her safely in place.
"She's secure!" the guard called out, giving the straps a final tug to ensure safety.
The winch cable descended, its hook clinking against the metal of the basket. With a sharp click, it locked onto
the basket’s frame.
The guards checked one more tto ensure it was firmly locked, then stepped back, shielding their faces from
the flying grit.
Slowly, the basket began to rise. Jessica's body swayed gently as the cable tightened, lifting her above the
jagged rocks and broken branches below.
Her body motionless, her hair fluttered in the wind, her pale face turned toward the fading sunlight.
"Hold on, Young Miss..." one of the guards whispered from below, his eyes following her keenly as the basket
climbed higher.
The helicopter hovered, pulling her steadily upward until the basket reached the open bay door.
Two crew members leaned out, gripping the frame, and they guided it safely inside.
Within seconds, Jessica was swallowed by the aircraft, carried away from the cliff’'s edge and the wreckage
below.
The guards walked towards the wrecked car and found the driver barely able to breathe. Swiftly, they rescued
him from the car but with multiple fractures on several parts of his body.
They quickly communicated with the team leaders above, and a quick emergency was made for his uplift.
Meanwhile, at the airport, Julian alighted from the Anderson family private plane, his face stone cold and
expressionless, his footsteps hurried, his hand clenched as he walked towards the exit of Country Y International
Airport.
Maxwell ran after him in a cold sweat, his hand holding tightly to the briefcase in his hand.
A sleek black car pulled beside him, without a glance back he boarded the car, and Maxwell sat into the
passenger seat and the driver swiftly left the airport.
Julian glanced outside the car, his index finger drumming impatiently against his thigh.
"How is the situation now?" His cold voice cut through the tension in the car.
The driver's hands trembled lightly but steadied again as he took a deep breath.
"Not optimistic," the driver answered truthfully.

"Alive but weak, currently in the incubator," the driver reported in one breath.
"Was she driving herself?" he asked.
Though he had received the report of the accident, he wasn’t aware of the specifics.
He had taken a trip to Westland to supervise a project before returning to the country when he got the report.
"No, she had her driver. | think he is also a bodyguard, and he shielded her from most of the impact."
"Alive?"
"Not optimistic, he had several fractures at different parts of the body."
"Any other person?"
"No, but sir, there are other security teams that had followed her discreetly."

"Didn't really consider having all their names, but one is Allen."
"Allen family special guard?" he murmured. "Where are they now?"
"With her at the hospital, but she is still unconscious."
"Maxwell, make arrangements to transfer her and the baby."
