Chapter 1645:

“Appreciate it!” Brady's grin spread, lighting up his face.

“I'm warning you, though.” Hadley turned serious, her expression sharp. “Colleen’s one of the best people |

know. If you plan on chasing her, be real about it. If you're not, don’t even start.”

“I mean it!” Brady grew flustered, lifting his right hand as though taking a solemn vow.

He hesitated, his voice dipping low, caught between nerves and honesty.

“I really like Colleen. Just being around her makes everything feel better. If | could see her every single day, I'd

be so happy...” His words trailed off into a soft hush.

Two seconds of silence passed—and then Hadley lost it.

She let out a full laugh, unable to hold it back. “Haha...”

“Hadley?” Brady's cheeks burned crimson as he turned to her. “Why are you laughing at me?”

“I'm not, really, haha...” Hadley tried to stifle her laughter, reaching over to pat his shoulder. “I just think it's

really sweet. You're a great guy, Brady.”

His face flushed deeper. “If Colleen thinks that too, it'd mean everything.”

“Haha...” Hadley doubled over, laughter bubbling up again, unstoppable.

That evening, Brady arrived at the location Hadley had given him for Colleen’s blind date.

He was twenty minutes early.

He waited for fifteen, and then saw Colleen step inside.

“Over here!” A man stood from a nearby table, hand raised in greeting.

“Dr. Hayes!”

“Hello!”

Colleen smiled, quickening her pace as she crossed the room to meet him.

They exchanged a few polite words, and then settled into their seats across from one another.

Brady moved to a table right beside them, his back turned subtly toward Colleen.

From that position, he sized the man up quietly.

The man didn’t look bad, but he was not quite tall enough. And definitely not better-looking.

still, that didn’t matter.

When choosing men, women usually considered looks as merely a bonus.

“Here, Dr. Hayes.” The man poured a glass of water and slid it over to Colleen.

“Thanks for that.”

He motioned toward the QR code on the table. “If we scan that, we can place our orders. Want to get started and

talk over a meal?”

“I'm fine with that.”

Pulling out his phone, he scanned the code, then passed it to Colleen. “You pick what you'd like first.”

Once their selections were made, they started talking as the food arrived, and a comfortable mood settled

between them.
