Chapter 1650:
Brady gave a half-smile. “Do you really think I'm letting you drive like this? I'll take you home.”
Colleen wanted to argue, but she knew she definitely wasn’t in the right headspace to drive.
So she kept her protest to herself and nodded. “Okay.”
Colleen handed over the car keys. “Thanks.”
“No big deal. Let's go,” Brady replied, taking the keys and walking ahead.
“Your rented apartment or home?”
“Home.”
“Alright.”
As they drove, Colleen’s phone rang. She checked the screen, then answered the call. “Hi, Mom?”
Her mother’s voice cthrough, loud and sharp. “Colleen, what happened? The matchmaker said you walked
out before you finished your meal!”

with someone like that?”
Her mother fell quiet for a moment.
“Seriously, Mom,” Colleen added, “stop settingup with these men who still think women should just stay
hand play house.”
She ended the call and folded her arms, still simmering.
Brady gave her a sideways glance, a faint smile tugging at his lips. So... no more blind dates?
At the Hayes family driveway, he pulled the car to a stop and held out the keys.
Colleen reached to take them. “Thanks. I'll go in now.”

“Mm...” Brady gave a small nod, but just as she grabbed the keys, he gently caught her hand. “Colleen, if you're
okay with it... I'm going to start pursuing you.”
She froze on the spot. Just that small touch sent a current through her, leaving her completely off balance.
She tried to answer, unsure what to say—or even what she felt.
Eventually, nothing cout.
“Haha...” Brady gave a small laugh and let go of her hand. “It’s okay. | get it. Go on in. Good night.”
“Okay.” Colleen, still caught off guard, clutched the keys and turned away.
Her mind spun. He got it? What exactly did he get?
Even she didn’t know her own feelings, so how could he possibly know anything about it?
Later that evening, Hadley had just tucked Joy into bed when her phone lit up with a call from Colleen.
“Hadley!”
“What's up?”
Colleen’s voice faltered in embarrassment.
“Hmm, Hadley could already guess. ‘Wait—did Brady confess to you?”
