“He wondered why you haven't reached out lately,” Jesse added.
“I've been busy having fun with Uncle Kristian,” Nina explained. “Last tI talked to Jerome, | said I'd call when

Looking at Nina's bright, innocent face on the screen, he cautiously asked, “Is your new friend a cool guy?”
“Yup!” Nina answered without hesitation.
Jesse raised an eyebrow, surprised. Nina's honesty was bold, to say the least.
“But you promised you wouldn’t find new cool guys there,” Jersaid, his voice tinged with disappointment.
“I only met one, not a bunch!” Nina said seriously, as if that made it all okay. Jerand Jesse both paused,
unsure how to respond. Was that really any different?
