Chapter 1633:
Jesse almost wanted to drag her away, seeing her stubbornness. But Nina wouldn't budge, determined to wait
for Damian.
In the end, Jesse and Kristian stepped outside, leaving her behind.
In the hallway, Kristian glanced at the open living room door, puzzled by Nina's actions. “Does she like Damian
that much?”
“She does, in a way,” Jesse said, knowing his sister's heart. “But mostly, she wants him to feel cared for, to know
someone's there for him.”
Even at her young age, Nina was a ray of sunshine, brightening the day for everyone around her. She could talk
to anyone, spreading smiles and warmth with ease. Her cheerful spirit was contagious, making people feel
happier just being near her.
“But this time,” Jesse added thoughtfully, “she might not get through to him.”
Kristian raised an eyebrow, surprised by Jesse's insight for such a young kid.

“If you know she’ll be disappointed, why not call her out?” Kristian asked, confused. “Aren't you worried she’ll be
sad?”
“When she sets her mind on something, only Mommy can change it,” Jesse said with a small smile, though he
knew he could sway her too. “Besides, even if she’s let down, she'll bounce back.”
And Jesse was right.
Later, when Damian cout to grab a drink, he found Nina sitting outside, flipping through one of his books.
“Damian!” she said, her eyes lighting up with a bright smile.
“I don’t want you here,” Damian said firmly. “Please go.”
“Really?” Nina asked, her voice soft and earnest. “I was quiet and didn’t bother you.”

“You made the floor dirty,” Damian said, grasping for an excuse to keep his distance. “I'll have to clean it now.”
Nina looked down, which seemed perfectly clean to her. But she didn’t argue. If he said it was dirty, she’d fix it.
“Ill clean it for you!” she said eagerly. She grabbed cleaning supplies and got to work, nearly tripping in her
excitement.
Damian’s hands tightened at his sides, watching her stumble.
“All done!” Nina said with a proud giggle.
“Leave,” Damian said, pushing down his feelings. “And don’t cback.”
“If 1 don’t come, you'll be lonely,” Nina said warmly, as if they were old friends.
“I want you to be happy.”
“I don’t need that,” Damian said, his voice still cold.
Nina ignored his words. “Can | tell you a joke?”
“How do you know it’s not funny if you don’t hear it?” she teased.
“I have homework,” Damian said, turning away.
“You do your work, and I'll tell my joke,” Nina said, trailing after him with a smile.
Damian didn’t push Nina away this time. He knew she’d only be in his life for a short while, but he couldn't help
wanting to cherish every second of her presence.
Nina noticed he didn’t ask her to leave, so she started sharing jokes she'd learned from Kristian. She'd giggle
uncontrollably before even reaching the punchline.
