Chapter 464
Jglanced at Gerard, "How many days are you planning to stay?"
"About ten days," Gerard replied.
"Ten days? That's quite a while," Jfrowned.
Gerard continued, "Cloudcrest has lots of tourist spots worth visiting. Ten days isn't too long, Grandma, | know
you're worried about me! But I'm not a kid anymore; | can take care of myself!"
Jhesitated for a moment.
She feared Gerard might run into Carole in Cloudcrest, yet she also worried that if she refused him, he'd be filled
with unnecessary thoughts.
It had been so many years; maybe Carole wasn't even in Cloudcrest anymore. And besides, they had never met
each other-Gerard and his mother-so even if they did cross paths, they might not recognize one another.
Keeping Gerard from visiting Cloudcrest indefinitely wasn't a solution either.
Jsquinted slightly, a plan forming in her eyes. "Alright, you can go. I'll have the butler pack sthings for
you."
Then Jadded, "As for that George fellow, if you can cut ties, you should. He's not from our world."
Gerard's eyes flashed with displeasure, but he didn't show it. He only said, "Grandma, George scored second in
the entrance exams for Capital City University."
Second place...

Jwas momentarily speechless.
The next day, Gerard, along with Healy, Kearney, and George, boarded the flight to Cloudcrest.
Unlike the last time, this trip was made openly.
Four and a half hours later, their plane landed on tat the airport.
The four of them wheeled their luggage out of the airport.
Kearney had relatives in Cloudcrest, so he was somewhat familiar with the place. "Let's head to the hotel first,
then we can go out this afternoon."
"Sounds good," Gerard nodded.
Aware of the invisible tail following them, the others avoided discussing Gerard's biological mother.
For George and Healy, this was their first visit to Cloudcrest, and they were amazed. "I thought Cloudcrest was
way less developed than Capital City, but it's really bustling!"
Cloudcrest was an old city rich in culture, with tourism driving its growth.
Kearney chuckled, "Cloudcrest may be small, but you'd be surprised at how many wealthy people live here!"
Amidst jokes and laughter, the four arrived at the hotel.
It wasn't until they closed the door
behind them that Healy spoke up "Gerard, what are we gonna do? Womeone tailing us, h find your mom?"

Despite their young age, the four of them had sharp instincts.

Gerard frowned slightly, "We'll visit the church this afternoon and see how things unfold."
Healy nodded in agreement.
In the afternoon, the four friends went to the church to light candles and say
prayers for their grandmothers.
Upon hearing this, Jwas particularly pleased.
Gerard's first act in Cloudcrest was to visit the church and pray for her well-being.
How could she not be happy?
"This is enough. You don't need to
Gerry tomorrow. If he

The butler nodded.
Later, Edna Fletcher and her daughter, Darleen, arrived right on tto bring Jher nourishing soup.
"Edna, you're here! Darleen, cover here and sit with Grandma," Jcalled warmly.
Having always wanted a granddaughter, Jadored Darleen like her own.
"Janet," Darleen greeted with a smile as she walked over.
Jsmiled back, "How many times have | told you? CallGrandma, not Janet."
Darleen hesitated, looking a bit uneasy, "But Grandma, isn't that against proper etiquette?"
"There's no such thing as improper if | say it's fine!" Jinsisted, holding Darleen's hand.
Darleen immediately sweetened her tone, "Grandma!"
"Ah, my dear granddaughter!" Jwas overjoyed.
With Edna and Darleen around, the house was filled with laughter and warmth.
Jwas truly happy.
This house only felt like a hwith Edna and Darleen there.
Whenever they were gone, the place felt cold and empty.
When Gerard and his friends
returned from the church, they were surprised to find that the tailing w was no longer behind them.
