Chapter 376: Severance of Soul
The rotten, putrid smell was so vivid that Killian could feel his stomach shrivel up. Despite being miles away from
the scene of chaos, he could feel the knots in his stomach turning and twisting.
Who was it? Killian demanded. Even as he was only looking at the images that Finn wanted him to see, he still
felt a kind of rage burning within him. These images proved the devastation that happened in the research lab,
and boy, he was not happy upon seeing it. There was so much blood, so many bodies. Death seemed to be filling
every fragment of the space where Finn and the others were standing.
Tracy says that it is the work of the witch. The sone who is leading a bunch of noob witches and wizards to
run a hate movement against the shifters. She is burning the entire space down, | think—I think she is angry with
herself. Maybe she blames herself for not coming here sooner. But damn, Kill. That woman got power. Maybe she
is even stronger than you and me. | think you need to be nicer to her; she will make a terrible enemy.
That dumb idiot. He is trying to interfere again. Kill, I will contact you back—that Alpha Cherith is trying to bite
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtoff more than he can chew. He wants to investigate this place to the last brick.
The connection got interrupted as abruptly as it started. For two seconds, Killian felt a bit disoriented, and the
space around him shifted as if his entire existence had been turned upside down.
"Is everything alright?" Seth asked when he noticed that Killian looked a bit shaken up.
"lI am fine." Even though the visions affected him more than he thought they would, Killian would rather suck
Dominic's dick than let Elder Norman see that he had lost his bearings of his senses. The last thing he wanted
was to add the tag of a mad hound to his already existing title of "lying prick’. He rolled his shoulders and looked
at Seth with a slick smile on his lips. "Everything is jolly good."
Elder Norman rolled his eyes as if he were upset with this newfound information. Given their rivalry, Killian was
almost certain that the man was hoping for him to drop dead.
Elder Norman exhaled heavily. "Anyway, we are wasting our tby going back and forth." he turned to look at
Seth and said to him, "I think we should call that woman back and have her interrogated thoroughly—"
"There will be no interrogation. | am not going to put my mate through any more distress just because you all
wish to bury your heads in your arses. The witches are on the rise, and they are trying to bring Amorphous back
to life. You can continue lying to yourself as long as you want, but if something goes wrong, then it’s on you. Not
me. Not my pack and certainly not my mate. You can continue with whatever gthat you have in your mind,
but I am not fucking playing it."
"You cannot speak tolike that. | am trying to stabilise peace and order—"
"You are trying to bury your head in the sand. That is what you are trying to do."
"That's enough!" Seth snapped at them. His voice rose another notch as he banged his fist on the table.
Realising that he had lost his temper, Seth inhaled deeply. "Both of you need to calm down. Do not forget that
you are members of the inner circle of the council. Not fucking children. Elder Norman, Killian is right. You had no
right to decide whether the lead was fake or real. This responsibility lay with Jones and Noah. | put them in
charge of interrogating that man. This case is not under you, and | do not understand what made you think it
was right for you to take matters into your own hands when I, as the head, didn’t even get to take a look at the
lead. Were you that eager for this case to close?"
Seth might look younger than Elder Norman, but he was older than him, having lived for centuries thanks to his
angel blood. Having dealt with all kinds of cases, there was nothing that could escape his eyes.
Elder Norman tried to explain, "It’s not what you think—"
