Chapter 377: Severance of Soul (II)
"Never thought that | would see a day when you would stand up for me."
Killian broke the awkward silence, causing Noah to glare at him. He saw the lips of the man move as he cursed
him silently before he, too, took his leave and walked out of the office, closing the door behind him with a bang.
Once he was gone, the sly smirk on Killian’s lips slid down. His expression turned solemn. "It seems like the
elders are going out of their way to hide the truth. Aren't they?"
Seth sighed heavily. "Which only proves my point. They will not let this matter slide. It will be hard for them to
overlook your actions. You are very lucky that both Elder Norman and Jones made a mistake. Without them
backing you up indirectly, the elders would have had a field day."
"But at the end of the day, they did make a mistake. Elder Norman can put forth his case, but with the only lead
dead, the chances of him winning are not really high."
"You could have simply killed the half-vampire who was the cause of the mess. There was no reason for you to
kill all those men; you could have avoided the trouble by simply letting them live." Seth’s white eyes didn’t look
away from Killian.
Killian smiled upon hearing Seth’s words. He said, "You are right, | could have let those men live, but | didn’t
because if you look past the incompetence of the bloodsucker, you will realise that the entire prison building is
now out of your control. Someone certainly tipped that vampire off and asked him to either kill the suspect or
forcefully wrench out a testimony. Either way, they wanted to shut the case down before things went out of
control. Which they did go out of control because | found something interesting."
"Interesting? My, | need to hear this because it's not every day when you tellthat you found something
interesting." Seth interlocked his fingers and waited for Killian to start speaking.
Killian tilted his head to one side. He recalled the bits and pieces of information that he gathered from the pack
link when it opened and asked, "Have you ever heard about witches who can split their souls into pieces and
possess human bodies as their new vessels?"
"I have heard about them a little," responded Seth. His eyes were narrowing slightly. "But where did you hear
about this? This is really dark magic. Really dark. Not many will be able to do it. Not unless they offer something

"A price?" Killian echoed. When the head of the council continued to look at him, Killian waved his hand and said
to the man, "Don’t look atlike that; I didn’t do anything. A rather annoying birdie toldthat the witch who
caused the massacre at the Silver Dawn Pack is someone who can split her soul into several pieces. Turns out
that destroying their vessel is just a waste of time."
Seth leaned back on his chair. "Indeed. That's because they are using the soul of their vessel as a shock
absorber. Even if the body that they are occupying dies, their soul will be fine."
"And how does that even work? How can a person just split their soul?" This was the first tKillian had heard
of something like this, and he couldn't help his curiosity.
"It’s a tricky thing to do." At first, Seth looked like he didn’t want to speak about it, but after a small pause, he
parted his lips and started explaining. "Severance of soul constitutes the essence which is one’s life and the will
that you can count as the identity of a person. | have never seen it happen, but my nana tolda little about it.
The witch who intends to split her soul first needs to find a vessel. Preferably, another human who will become
her anchor. She will then stand between two mirrors. One that faces hell and the other one will face heaven."
"There must be ssigils and arrays involved, but | have no idea about them."
Killian arched a brow. "And that’s all she needs to do? It sounds way easier than you made it sound."
"Because it isn’t that simple, you dumbass," snapped Seth. He rolled his eyes and stated in a cold voice, "This is
just the preparation for it. The witch has to give her real nwhile offering the sacrifice. Once she reveals her
true name, her essence will be revealed. Once the essence surfaces, the witch will chant a spell to cut the
essence along with her soul. That's how a part of her soul will get trapped in the vessel."
"And how does the witch cuts her soul?"
