Chapter 730

Chuck scratched his ear, unfazed by the gunfire outside, but Marguerite

Lockwood's scream had indeed caught him off guard.

"Marguerite, relax. It's just a firecracker, really small potatoes. Mr. Winston won't

let anything happen to you."

A firecracker?

Chuck's attempt at reassurance only made Marguerite's skin crawl.

"Can you please just tellwhat's going on?"

Chuck quickly poured Marguerite a cup of tea, hoping it would calm her nerves, then he started, looking

somewhat troubled:

"Marguerite, you might not be aware, but Mr. Winston was ambushed right after he got off the plane this

morning. He was almost hurt. Luckily, Chief Tunez from the Tunez Tribe was there to back him up.

The firecracker that was just set off, well, Mr. Winston wanted to test its power, and also to scare off any

potential ambushers lurking around."

"Ambushed?"

Marguerite's eyes filled with wariness, her lips pressed tightly together.

Frederick Winston ambushed as soon as he went abroad?

Could it be that his influence had grown so vast that so many were watching him like hawks?

"Yes, ambushed. But we still haven't figured out who is behind it. We're not sure if they were targeting Mr.

Winston or the Chief's territory.

That's why there was a special check when you cin. Normally, it wouldn't be so strict."

Marguerite drained her cup of tea in one gulp, her heart still pounding uncontrollably.

"Taketo Frederick!"

"I'm sorry, Marguerite," Chuck glanced at his watch, "At this time, Mr. Winston is probably having dinner with the

Chief and his wife."

Marguerite frowned in confusion.

He was ambushed, and this man still has the leisure to sit down for dinner?

She forced herself to stay calm, taking a while before she continued to inquire:

"He's here for a hacker collaboration project, so this Chief wouldn't happen to be the hacker, would he?"

Chuck laughed: "No, that's not it, but it's a long story."

"Then make it short and sweet!"

Marguerite's tone was full of urgency, which somewhat surprised Chuck.

After all, Marguerite was rarely anything but calm and collected, even in the face

of personal tragedy, she seldom showed any discomposure in front of others.

But her anxiety today was palpable, clearly shaken by the day's events.

Chuck understood her biggest worry was for Mr. Winston's safety.

So, after a moment's thought, he decided to reassure Marguerite:

"The Tunez Tribe is the largest clan in Country Veracoria, also the only legal

armed force there, directly managed by the King of Veracoria.

The Chief's nis lan, and he's been good friends with Mr. Winston for over ten years.

Ten years ago, lan wasn't the Chief, and Mr. Winston hadn't yet returned to the Winston Group. Both were

members of the Navy SEALs."

"The Navy SEALS?"

Marguerite was completely lost.

"The Navy SEALs are among the top ten special forces units in the world.

During a mission, lan was severely injured and nearly captured by the enemy. Mr. Winston risked his life to save

him from almost certain death.

So, the two share a bond forged in life-and-death situations.

After retiring, lan succeeded his father as Chief, and Mr. Winston returned to the Winston Group."

"But what does this have to do with a hacker?"
