Chapter 732
The living room was perched atop a stilt house by the lakeshore, one side touching the bank while the other
extended into the lake waters.
As the sun dipped westward, crystal lamps along both sides of the shore flickered to life, twinkling in the dusk.
At the lake's center bobbed a rowboat, from which a striking woman stood at the prow, her voice weaving
through the air in a melody Marguerite couldn't understand.
Had it not been for the sight of armed patrols meandering through the bushes beneath the stilt house,
Marguerite might have mistaken this for a hidden paradise.
But reality was far from it.

The enchanting singer was just a facade; the real story was told by the stern soldiers guarding the area.
Despite Chuck's thorough explanation, the atmosphere of the tribe still sent shivers down Marguerite's spine.
She followed a maid into the living room, where only three people were present.
At the round table sat Frederick, alongside a dark-skinned man with golden hair and blue eyes, and a woman
beside him.
Both were dressed in the local attire, glittering with gold and exuding grandeur.
But Marguerite was too worried to exchange pleasantries; she rushed to Frederick's side and began frantically
checking him for injuries.
Frederick's face flushed with embarrassment. He gestured to the chief and his wife before taking Marguerite's
hand and whispering, "What are you doing?"
His tone was neither angry nor impatient, but filled with tenderness and indulgence.
Marguerite's eyes welled up with tears. "Chuck said you were attacked right after you landed. | wanted to check
if you were hurt."
Frederick frowned, annoyed. "Damn Chuck, why did he have to tell you that?"
Marguerite continued, "Why shouldn't he? You were attacked! Was it with a knife or a gun? Don't brush it off; it
must have been a dire situation. I'm just scared you got hurt and didn't realize!"
Frederick's smile grew warmer. "If something had happened to me, how could | be sitting here chatting? Indy and
Sandra have been waiting for you. Maybe you should say hello?"
Only then did Marguerite notice the man and woman watching her with amused smiles.
This must be the legendary chief and his wife.
Indy chuckled, "So, this is the Marguerite you've been talking about, Frederick? Seems like the recent blast
scared her quite a bit. You really should reassure her."
Indy's Mandarin had a peculiar accent, yet it was much clearer and more fluent than that of the locals.
The chief's wife, however, greeted Marguerite with a warm smile in perfectly standard Mandarin, "Margot, hello."
Marguerite was surprised, "Madam, are you from our country?"
Sandra nodded slightly, succinctly sharing her background, "My family originates from the splace as yours,
Stonebridge City, but | grew up in Silverforge. | studied art in Veracoria for my bachelor's degree. It was Frederick
who introducedto Indy, and we got married."
