Chapter 739
Marguerite's voice was tinged with a roar, her petite frtrembling
uncontrollably from sheer anger and excitement.
Maurice looked at Marguerite, his face a complex mix of emotions. Until this moment, he had no idea that the
web of lies he had spun was already unraveled by Marguerite.
His tone remained calm, but his displeasure was evident:
"Marguerite, cut the , will you?"
"?"
Marguerite felt like she had just heard the joke of the century, pointing at two reports on the floor, her smile
dripping with sarcasm.
"Why don't you take a good look at what's on the floor before you talk to me?"
Maurice's eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at Marguerite, then bent down, his slender fingers picking up the
reports from the floor, his eyes quickly scanning them.
Marguerite saw his gaze shift from disdain to doubt, and then to anger. Yet, the man's expression remained
largely unchanged throughout.

Marguerite's sense of irony grew stronger.
An actor!
Maurice was indeed a masterful actor!
His lies were exposed right to his face, yet he managed to keep his composure.
He had hidden himself well, embodying a stoic nature to the fullest!
No wonder she was always at a disadvantage; she was no match for him!
After reading the reports, Maurice acted as if nothing had happened, neatly stacking the papers and slipping
them back into Marguerite's purse.
"Must've been tough keeping all that bottled up, huh?"
Marguerite was floored by his reaction.
Should she be thanking him for his understanding?
It wasn't just tough; her heart was on the verge of bursting!
Every day felt like a ticking tbomb.
So today, Marguerite was done beating around the bush with Maurice.
"Maurice, what right do you have to be my fiancé?
Yes, | admit you're meticulous in your actions, but deeds always leave traces. Do you really think you can
deceiveforever?
Today might not be the last day we see each other, but | believe our ttogether should cto an end."
With that, Marguerite went back to the dressing room, changed out of her gown, found Frederick still on the
phone downstairs, paid him, and decisively left.
She deliberately didn't tell Maurice that she knew Teresa was Frederick's child. Even in anger, she retained a
sliver of rationality.
Because she couldn't lay all her cards on the table, fearing Maurice might take action.
Meanwhile, Maurice snapped back to reality only to find Daphne standing before him.
Dressed in an emerald green halter-neck dress that hugged her curves, she was the epitof seduction and
charm.
Leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window, she lit a cigarette, her slender fingers bringing it to her lips for a
deep inhale, then slowly exhaling a thin stream of smoke.
Her elongated, upturned eyes narrowed slightly, mocking clear in her gaze:
"On the surface, you had her just where you wanted, but you have to admit, Marguerite is the one woman you'll
never have."
Maurice's gaze turned cold, but his dark pupils seemed to blaze with intense blue flames.
He questioned her, "Did you give her my vasectomy report?"
Daphne's laughter was unbridled, her tone unapologetic: "So what if | did?"
Maurice's fists clenched white, his entire being radiating a murderous aura.
Daphne glanced at Maurice's clenched fist nonchalantly, then took a step towards him, chin lifted in defiance,
her eyes brimming with triumph.
"What? You want to hit me? Go ahead. Maurice, why do you think | would help you out of the blue?
| went to jail for you, and as soon as | got out, | was busy finding a hacker for you. And then, after tasting sweet
success, you want to kickto the curb and fly high with Marguerite?
Maurice, Marguerite said it best, did you really think everyone would be content being fooled by you? I'm not the
naive fool | once was."
Maurice's fury was unquenchable, his eyes locking onto Daphne with vengeful fire.
"You've messed up all my plans! Fool!"
He cursed through gritted teeth, then pulled out his phone, immediately calling Janie.
"I don't care how you do it, bring Teresa tofrom Stonebridge City right now. Also, sendthe paternity test
results between her and Frederick by fax!"
